2015 Mummers Parade
For the past one hundred and fourteen years Philadelphian's have been celebrating the first day of the New Year with a family friendly parade starring the Mummers. This celebration is steeped in tradition and is said to be the oldest folk festival in the United States. However, as the parade draws to a close and the brigades retreat back to their respective clubhouses on two street, (don't even think about calling it 2nd street) the event playfully devolves into a chaotic bacchanal. This darker yet still whimsical version of the classic Mummer's march down Broad Street is spiked to say the least.
